Summer 2021

A trip to the coast with Dawson & Sydney and Nick

Sheesh, it’s not east to try to go back 2.5 years and remember the order of events and all the details, I really need to be better at this. I guess it's better to do it now rather than try to remember in 20 years. Summer 2021 was awesome. Isaac went back to California selling home security systems for Vivent and had another successful summer! Adam and Liv were together in Bear Lake working at Zips, and it was the summer before senior year for Dawson at home. Matt had the entire summer off!

A couple photos of Daws dressed in his best for school one day. Of course he rode the motorcycle in cowboy boots!

Live came home for a couple weeks before heading to Bear Lake to work for the summer with Adam and her Hawaii besties.

We were all happy to have her home but especially Kona

Here she is with her other best friend Frederick. I think she road-tripped with him and we picked him up in Idaho? Or maybe we brought him there for a visit? Either way, she’s pretty cute.

Liv made Adam his favorite pineapple upside down cake for his bday at their Big Barn in Bear Lake.

Olivia lived in a house/barn with like 20 girls, 3 of them were her Hawaii roommates, Adam lived with a couple other guys in a smaller house nearby, but they used the kitchen and hangout space of the barn.

We took a trip to visit them at zips, Adam was on the grill flipping burgers

Liv at the window greeting all the customers

We rented a boat on Bear Lake and took the kids and some of their friends out

Our boating fun was short-lived because a storm picked up, the lake got super choppy, and they called all the boats back in. It was a little sketchy getting back to the dock with the waves and all the boats coming in at once.

Dawson campout in Idaho (Malad Summit Group site) later that same week! Isaac was able to steal away from Vivent Summer sales and joined us, too!

We did a thing this summer and bought a house just outside of Downey.  We closed on it the weekend of the campout and were able to do some projects while we were there.  The yard was pretty dead, the house was super dirty and lots of deferred maintenance. Matt went back for a couple weeks and did lots of painting and repaired the deck and a zillion other projects. We sure love this little piece of Idaho heaven.

It's been nice to have a place in Idaho and has given lots of opportunities to visit my Dad and Mom. They're pretty cute!

I think these pics are out of order ...we also took a trip to Utah for Carly & Zach's wedding and met up with the Utah Blackburns while we were there.  Mitch & Jesse happened to be in the area at the same time, so we got a bonus visit! And a trip to Lisa's farm during one of our many Idaho trips.

Matt and I did some backpacking this summer....We had backpacked the previous summer for my first time and I was instantly hooked!

I hiked a 22 mile solo day hike to make up the mileage we missed on our 50 miler the previous summer. I hiked from the Pole Creek Trailhead to the Green Lakes Trailhead with a little 2 mile detour starting up middle sister on the wrong trail.  It was a beautiful day but my feet were pretty tired by the last mile or two.

We camped a couple times with Matt's brothers Monte & Mitch and their families.
This was the Ice Cap campground near Clear Lake with both Mitch and Monte's families. Dawson came up the second day and this is where "IT'S DAWSON BABY" came to be. Trekker was so excited when he pulled up.

And this was East Lake with Mitch & Jesse's fam. Adam was home for a quick visit before moving back to Hawaii for the fall so it was fun to have him along too!

Just a nice fall evening out with the flannel guys.

Kona had lots of long road trips to Idaho and Utah

And a lot of beautiful days in the back yard with the new paver patio Matt put in.

Matt and Dawson painted the Philly house

And Matt painted the Gardenia House

Another glimpse of the awesome paver patio Matt did.

AND DAWSON GOT CHICKENS!
Jackie (the one on the right) turned out to be a rooster...
