Vegetarian

Isaac is a vegetarian. He decided about 3 weeks ago that he was never going to eat animals again. I thought it would last a few days but we are in week 3 and he is still going strong. We have supported him and are cool with it. He has always loved animals and I'm not sure what gave him the idea to become a vegetarian but even a McDonald's hamburger doesn't tempt him. I need to do some research and figure out what he needs to be eating. We aren't huge carnivores around here anyways but he has already missed lots of good protein. He doesn't like cheese or hard boiled eggs. He does like edamame. If you have any ideas or vegetarian experience let me know. One time I was in subway and there was a grandpa and his 2 grandsons behind me, the grandpa ordered a veggie sandwich and the grandson explained to the lady "He's a Veterinarian"
I laughed.

Good luck with that. I think that it is great that Ike could be a vegetarian veterinarian. I don't really have any advice since we are certainly carnivores in this house. Did you already tell me what edamame is? I've never heard of it before you said it. There is lots of protein in peanut butter. Does he like that?

We subscribe to Vegetarian Times magazine. It is one of my favorites and has LOTS of great stuff in it. The recipes are wonderful. You may want to do some research on kids and soy. Some folks think it is fine, other studies link soy to stunted growth and hormone imbalances in children. I don't give my kids soy. Good luck! Oh and just on a side note, it was 12 degrees here last night. Mmmmm! Almost like Hawaii, eh?
