Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day!! I am so grateful to be a mom to 4 amazing kids and I'm thankful for my amazing Mother and all the other amazing women in my life...My Mother in Law, my grandmothers, My sisters, Sister in laws, My friends each of you have changed my life forever! Women are AMAZING!! We need a day to celebrate women! My mom use to always hate mothers day because she didn't like listening to all of the church talks about amazing mothers and she didn't feel like she was amazing (I can tell you she is MORE than amazing though) I have many friends that are constantly feeling inadequate is a mother. I think it's because we are always so busy trying to keep up our image as perfect moms with perfectly clean homes, well groomed, fed and behaved kids that if we don't get to see the shortcomings of others our shortcomings seem so big! I can honestly tell you that I am at such a content phase as a mother (just wait til they are teenagers though..ha ha) I use to clean my house every morning spotless in case someone stopped by I wouldn't want them to think I didn't have an immaculate house..how sad that that was my motivation..what others would think of my house! I kind of wish I was more like that now (because I could use some motivation to keep it spotless) but I am totally good with anyone seeing my house, messes and all, laundry piled sky high! Because that is my reality! It is rare that my entire house is clean...very very rare! and that is OKAY! It's okay that you can see my clutter in the background of this picture...I'm sharing it anyway! This is my TODAY! The kids are laying on my bed watching a home movie and I got to crash their party...TODAY. Before I know they will be grown and gone. The clutter can wait until then!

That was a great post Keri. It's nice to remember why we do this motherhood thing...to be with the sweet little kids Heavenly Father sends us.

You look tan! You are an awesome mom. I'm trying to by more content with this whole mothering gig. I still sweat the small stuff way too often. My new goal (after a mini emotional breakdown last night) is to stop worrying about what other people think . . . just do my best and call it a day. :)

I like the idea of not cleaning a house in order to spend more time with kids and family. It sounds good and it's most likely going to be true. Now I won't feel so bad when my house isn't clean when I have kids. I'm glad you had a good mother's day!

I loved your post, quality! I have always admired how calm and patient you are! I sure wish I had more of that in me. I used to be more anal about the house being clean, etc...but I have given up in that now too. Someday when my kids are grown, I might have a clean house!!

So, our Arizona plans as of now are just to leave in the middle of August. We're still trying to sell our house, but if we can't do that by the time we want to leave, we have a family in our ward that would want to do a rent-to-own thing. So either way, I think we'll be able to get out of the house by the time we need to leave. I'm excited, but not at all excited to get there right in the middle of the summer! Ah.
