Well it's been a very long time since I've been on my blog or anyone else's..I have thought about writing an update many times and have even sat down to do it a couple times but it had been so long I couldn't even remember my log in..yes I am that ditsy! It's been so long that the kids have been asking me about it. They love to read the blog since it's a family journal of sorts. So here goes..just for them.
Back in December we made a Huge move from Hawaii to Spokane WA. It was a big decision to leave our island paradise and all that we love there. I was facing a layoff at United Airlines and that got us thinking of a possibly transfer back to the mainland. Without flight benefits it would have been very hard to stay in Hawaii..it's not cheap shipping a family of 6 back and forth to the mainland for visits with family. Also with the kids getting older and nearing high school (yikes) we figured it wouldn't hurt to get back to the mainland where schools tend to be a bit better. Though we don't doubt that they would have continued to thrive in Hawaii it just felt like the timing was perfect to take the jump back to the mainland. So here we are in Spokane WA. I transferred with United Airlines and have been able to keep the amazing benefits I have with that job (free flights and free health insurance). The HUGE downfall is that Matt hasn't found work yet and is still in Hawaii. Fortunately he has been able to make quite a few trips to visit us and we've made a trip back to Hawaii as well. It has been hard to be the single mom and the kids have been incredible! We found a great home that is right across the street their schools. couldn't have worked out better.. The kids have adjusted amazingly! We miss Hawaii and all of our friends and family there but feel very blessed to have found another little piece of Heaven. Spokane is a beautiful area with lots of outdoor activities. We've gone on lots of day hikes and have enjoyed exploring the great parks here. I'll see if I remember how to attach some pictures.
Wow look what pictures I found! From Dawson's baptism! can't leave that out of our family journal. Sure was a special day for our youngest. Hard to believe that he is already 8! He loved his special day!
Look at all these Leis...that's what happens when you get baptized in Hawaii..you get buried in leis from all your loved ones! Not too sure what the pose is all about though. That's our silly boy!
