My parents spent the summer in Yellowstone this year for the 2nd year. They volunteered with the park service. They brought their camper and lived in it from May-Sept. The kids and I were able to make a trip from Hawaii last summer and the kids loved Yellowstone so much they didn't want to leave. We were excited to make a quick trip this summer again but it was even better because Matt was able to come! That is one plus of living on the mainland again..matt is able to travel with us a lot more. We headed up on Friday before Labor Day and spent the night at my sister Lisa's new home. She and Brandon and their 4 kids moved to Idaho Falls this summer about the same time we moved to Utah. We love living closer to family! They came to yellowstone just for the day on Saturday.

It ended up pouring rain the first night so we all slept in the camper..8 of us! We had movie night in the livingroom/kitchen before heading to bed. Such a fun memory!
Can't have a post about Yellowstone without Bison right? This trip we didn't see any bears compared to last year when we saw 7 or 8. We went a lot earlier in the season last year..maybe that had something to do with it.
Decent enough weather the second day to sleep in the tent and have a campfire!
On our way home we stopped at Tracey & Eric's for the afternoon. It was great to see their new home. I'm bummed we didn't take the camera out of the car!! lots of great family time this weekend!
