Santiago, Chile

For Christmas this year we took a family vacation to Santiago, Chile (a few weeks early)! Isaac was wrapping up his month of travel (he went to S.Korea, Nepal, Egypt & Rome) Adam had flown out a few days earlier to meet Isaac In Rome for a few days and they met the rest of us in Santiago the day after Thanksgiving.
 Isaac hiking in s.Korea
Riding in the desert in Egypt
Scuba diving in the Red Sea
I was so relieved to get this picture via text that the two of them had found each other at the Rome Metro station! They had a fun few days together biking around Rome & eating good food.
The rest of us spent Thanksgiving in the ATL airport waiting for our 10pm flight. Luckily Matt had packed skipbo so we had some good entertainment.
All 4 kids back together in sunny santiago!

We hiked to the top of Cerro San Cristobal and enjoyed the amazing view of the city.

We rode the Gondola down the hill..Olivia was a little nervous. She's pretty cute.
Delicious Chilean sandwiches at the bottom of the hill before checking out the 6 story gigantic mall and then we wandered the crazy street markets.

Our 2nd day...
we took a "Turbus" to Valparaiso & Vina Del Mar.

Lots of fun colorful artwork all throughout the city of "Valpo"

Beautiful sunny beaches in vina Del Mar (not quite like our Hawaii beaches but still amazing)

The last day we took am uber to the "mormon temple" but ended up in the ghetto..we had picked the wrong location and our driver was kind enough to drive us out of there!

The rest of the day we just wandered Santiago some more, ate some delicious food. Headed back up Cerro san Cristobal but this time one a bus. Rode the gondola again with plans of swimming in the big pool on the hill but once we saw how crowded it was, kids decided they'd rather swim at the hotel pool.

Stumbled upon some street dancers.

We had a great trip. The best part was being together!! Hard to believe these kids are all growing up and going to be leaving home. Isaac leaves for BYU-Hawaii next month and Adam will be graduating in June. I think it's hitting the kids too. They had so much fun together, I don't think it would have mattered where we were in the world (but we can't complain about getting to spend a few days in Sunny Chile)!
