With school starting we haven't made it to the beach like we use to. It had been over a month! We have spent almost everyday at the pool but it's just not the same. We took yesterday afternoon and headed down to Hapuna Beach to enjoy some sunshine and great waves. It was a perfect day for it and when I took the camera out to take some pictures, the batteries died! Aurgh. We've decided to make it a goal to make it to the beach at least once a week. It's too easy to let time go by but there is nothing like swimming in the ocean and relaxing on the beach.
Friday night we went to an outdoor movie at a shopping area near us. They will start having it every week. It's free, they sell cheap popcorn and it's always a family movie. This week was Nim's Island...great movie if you haven't seen it. It was great to sit under the hawaii night sky on our blanket. Dawson fell asleep but the others really enjoyed the movie.
Saturday I attended a sealing of an adopted baby to her parents. It has been an open adoption and the birth mother flew over for the week. They have adopted 2 babies from the same mother and so this is the 2nd sealing she has come to. Seeing her in the waiting room of the temple helping to get the little girl ready brought a flood of tears for me. What an amazing gift she has given those children...an eternal family. Giving a baby up for adoption is such a selfless act and takes such courage! I admire her.
It's been a really wonderful weekend and the great thing is that it's not over! No school tomorrow!! Hurray! More beaching fun coming our way tomorrow.

Watching Nim's Island on an island . . . how cool is that?!?! We liked that movie. It scored an 8 on Nate's rating scale. :) Have fun at the beach!
you're so wonderful!! I miss you!
Wow, that would be so hard to watch the child you gave birth to get sealed forever to someone else. I admire her too. The beach sounds like so much fun! I want to see some pictures, so take some next time you go! That sucks about the batteries... that's the worst!
