Summer!

I guess once a month posting is better than not at all! The kids got out of school a week ago and we are having a BLAST. I love having all day with them before having to head to work. We've gone to either the beach, pool or park every day and some days a couple of places! Today we took Mango to the beach for the first time. Dogs are not allowed at most of the beaches here but we had heard that you could walk about 2/3 of a mile down to the left at A-bay to a nice beach that was dog friendly. We decided to give it a shot. The beach was BEAUTIFUL. I couldn't believe we hadn't ever been there. The kids had fun swimming in the bay and with some coercion even Mango got in. She was pretty timid at first but once in she loved it! I will post some pictures as soon as I can figure out this computer.

The boys finished their HYSA soccer season yesterday. They both won the championship game and had a fun day with there teams at the bowling alley after. AYSO soccer starts in a couple months and all FOUR kids will be playing! Wish me luck since Matt works every Saturday.

The big news around here is that we are going to Homeschool next year!!! We can hardly wait. Some of the kids want to start school tomorrow! I work nights and feel like when school is in I don't get to see the kids. They come home at 2:00 and often have practice of some sort and then it's time for me to head to work. This way I will get to hang out with them all day before work and we will have time to explore this amazing island that we live on! We plan to have a field trip every week to some place new. We are thinking we can get the actually school work part done in 3 hours each day and then still have time to play a few hours before I go to work. We are just planning on doing this for a year and then they will go back to Waikoloa Elementary the following year. I've always considered homeschooling my kids if there was a need and this year feels like a perfect year for it! Isaac will be a 6th grader, Adam a 5th grader, Olivia a 3rd and Dawson a 1st grader! Gosh they are growing up too quickly. I'm hoping homeschooling for a year will slow time down a bit...if even just for a year!

Yay! I think homeschooling will be wonderful for you! What a great place to do it, too! Think of the field trips!!! I am a little jealous. Do you remember the Maxfields in the 19th Ward? Their daughter is coming to BYU Hawaii in Jan. so we have all been talking about your home state an awful lot lately. Good luck with everything and post more pix when you can. I live vicariously through you in that tropical paradise!

Hearing you talk about homeschooling almost makes me want to try it. Almost. :) You'll have a party!

I'm a little jealous of your trips to the beach. We joked about taking the snorkel to Willard Bay yesterday. Not quite the same. :)
