I spent an hour and a half the other day doing Isaac's post and accidentally deleted it all! I was so bummed it's taken me a few days to recover to do it all over again.
Isaac is my intelligent, motivated, negotiating oldest child! His mind is amazing! From a very young age he was constantly asking questions...questions I had not ever thought of. He has to know how the entire universe functions. Inquiring minds want to know! That has resulted in an early education in Santa Claus (at age 4..."I don't get it...how do reindeer fly") , the birds and the bees and many other things. He is always figuring out solutions to any problem which means my excuses of why he can't do something are never good enough. He can negotiate his way through anything (and I might be big push over). Hopefully he'll put his negotiating skills to work to do great things when he's older.
His big life aspirations are to be a middle school football player, then a high school football, a college football player and then a professional football player. He loves football! He also loves basketball and any other sport that gets his body moving. He is an active strong boy! He gets so jittery if we've been in the house all day, he just HAS to get out in the fresh air...even if it's freezing cold outside!
Isaac's first football team. Isaac putting on his game face!He is a super oldest child! He's very obedient and a huge help with the other kids. He is always the first one up and takes care of the dog and gets breakfast for anyone else that is awake. I am grateful he's mine! He has lots of friends and always adjusts very easily with each of our moves.

Isaac is very passionate about animals. His first love were Elephants and he insisted on us calling him "baby elephant" We have a picture taken when he was 2 or 3 and he had lined up about 5 elephants in the living room and then got in position behind them all. He then became "baby horsey" and Next was "Spirit horse" from the movie "spirit". He can imitate ever animal perfectly. When he was 4 he started loving Dogs and was constantly running around the house like a dog. One time I was sitting at the computer when I saw this dog charging me! I jumped wondering how a dog got the house. From the corner of my eye it looked just like a dog running at me but it was Isaac dressed all in black barking and running. He is an incredible actor and I hope he will try acting in school or community plays.

Isaac couldn't have been happier when we got our dog "Buster" It was amazing how good it was for him. It gave him something to put his extra energy into. We realized that even more when it came time for us to find Buster a new home. It was fun to surprise all of the kids this past Christmas with a new puppy. Isaac was especially happy!!

Isaac has always had his own sense of style. His style has gone through many "phases" that we've allowed and have just waited for each to pass. He use to love everything skin tight and tucked in (he even tucked in a sweatshirt once). Then it moved to wearing Dad's black dress socks pulled up to his knees (with shorts). He started wearing the popular plastic bracelets around his ankles. Next was wearing 4 or 5 necklaces at a time which changed to 4 or 5 shirts at a time.... even in the summer he'd wear 2 or 3 shirts. He gets on a kick and it lasts for months. I love that Isaac is his own person and comfortable in his own style. Isaac Rocks!
One of his "mohawks" He's had a couple but only for a few days at a time. That is one of his fashion ideas we've allowed only for a short while.Isaac is a natural on the piano. Matt's dad gave us a piano a couple years ago and Isaac took to it immediately. He started lessons about a year ago and has done really well. He has made up quite a few songs and we love to hear him play. Lately he has been asking for a guitar. I'm sure when the day comes for us to get him one that he'll pick that up quickly too.
Our family the day of Isaac's Baptism.Isaac is full of life and many talents! We feel lucky to have him in our family. I love him so much!
It is fun to watch each of these children learn and grow and it will be neat to see what each one of them do with their many talents. It is humbling to be their Mother. They are each such amazing spirits!

thanks for adding me to your blog list!
i love the entries about each of your kids! what a great idea!
Seriously, I am laughing out loud. The mohawk, necklace, tucked in tie-die shirt picture is the funniest thing I have ever seen. That is a whole lot of personality for one kid!
Nate wants me to follow your example and do a write up for each of our kids. Maybe next year. :)
BTW, cute family picture.
