We had a Great Christmas. It was even a "white" Christmas...white sand that is! The kids had us up at 4am and since Matt had to be to work at 8am we decided we might as well get up and enjoy family time while we had it. It didn't take long for the organized presents under the tree to turn to presents present everywhere! We finally purchased a new Video camera on Christmas Eve! we are on our 3rd one since Isaac was born, but we haven't had one for the last couple of years! It will be nice to have home videos again.
After the kids had played and played with their new toys, the kids and I loaded up to go to the beach. I don't know why I thought the beach might not be crowded on Christmas Day! I have never seen Hapuna Beach so busy!

Isaac, Adam and Olivia boogie boarded the entire time (they are getting really good) while Dawson played in the sand next to me with his truck. I love some of these shots of him.

Adam came and crashed in the sand! They were tired kids after waking up so early and then playing so hard! We splurged and got our first Hawaiian Shave Ice from the food stand. mmm delicious! They were HUGE and we decided the next time we would just get a couple to share. I wish I had gotten a picture, they are like no shave ice you've ever seen before. They are in bowl and then piled about 7 inches high and the ice is really finely grated. yummy! better than any snow cone I've ever had. Isaac stayed on the beach while the other 3 helped me get them. He sculpted this turtle and a dolphin (you have to look closely to see the turtle and I didn't get a picture of the dolphin).
What a great day at the beach!! Just as we were starting to leave we felt a few rain drops and by the time we were in the car it started POURING rain! We had perfect timing. It poured the rest of the day and is still rainy this morning!

We couldn't be in more different climates! We got at least a foot of new snow on Christmas day. Those warm beaches are looking fabulous about now. The crazy thing is that we had a shaved ice on Christmas day too. My mom gave us a shaved ice machine and we had to test it out. I was really yummy, but it seemed a little crazy to be eating it while it was snowing outside.
I am quite jealous of spending Christmas on the beach!!! I love the beach. We are in the cold here so just enjoy it.
OH MY WORD! Christmas on the beach???!!! You are so lucky! Merry Christmas! I think of you often and we are so glad you all had a great holiday!
Wow, playing at the beach on Christmas day. That just sounds so weird to me. But it looks like a lot of fun! I'm glad you guys had a good day.
Hey Quality! I have been a slacker with my blog lately, and haven't checked yours out for awhile either. IT looks like you guys have been having a lot of fun. CUte pics of the kiddos!!! I heard you guys got SNOW the other day?? THe weather here has been freezing and very snowy! I would love the beach about now. (not in a swimsuit after all of the holiday crap that I've eaten!) Miss you!
wow... what a merry christmas!
how fun!
Cute family!!!! I am loving the long hair on the kids. I can't believe how different Issac looks especially in the Christmas eve shots. I still think those beach pictures were taken in August. I can't believe people were even swimming in the water. Too many trips to Oregon to think you swim in the ocean. We love you and are so happy for you.
I remember my first Christmas in Hot weather (it was on my mission, so I was not at the beach), But it was SO WEIRD and different. Looks like so much fun though!!! How long are you planning on staying. Some day I'll make it out to Hawaii!!!
This is the reason you moved to Hawaii, isn't it?
Looks like so much fun!! You have the cutest family. I watched the news the night it had snowed in Hawaii. I thought about you guys and wondered if you were somewhere that you could see or be in it.
Wow, what a far cry from freezing Idaho/Utah Christmases...how fun!!!!
