Easy Mac...not so easy

A few weeks ago on an early Saturday morning, Adam came and woke me up and was asking for Easy Mac for breakfast. He loves Macaroni and Cheese! I've never given it to him for breakfast I promise but I figured it wouldn't hurt once...I however didn't want to get out of bed at 6:30 on a saturday to make it for him so I told him "sure, go make it" He said he didn't know how and so I told him to just follow the directions and have Isaac help him. Well, a few minutes later I woke again to hear them screaming that there was a lot of smoke in the kitchen. Isaac had followed the directions... except for one thing...he didn't see the "add 1/2 cup water"
What do you get when you put noodles, cheese powder and a plastic bowl in the microwave for 4 1/2 minutes?? ... Some serious smoke, burned noodles and a bottomless bowl (totally melted) Our house smelled like smoke for weeks!! I guess I learned my lesson of being lazy and staying in bed! Ha ha

oh noooo!!! How sad for your little noses. I would have done the same too- stayed in bed. Maybe this is a good lesson for me too, however, I'm usually the one burning things (One time, I wanted to boil my toothbrush to clean it and I totally forgot about it. I left it in so long that all the water evaporated and it melted to the bottom of the pot....) Hopefully your kids will get better as they grow up!

Like mother like son. I seem to remember some boiled eggs that ended up with no water. :) Not quite the same. I feel bad for your smoke smell. We made scout dinners last night and had some serious smoke when the grease started dripping out of the tinfoil and onto the bottom of the oven. It was funny to watch Nate fanning it away from the smoke detector so it would stop ringing. I feel your pain.

Looks delicious! I stay in bed for as long as I possibly can! I think it helps to make my kids more independent! :)

LOL! I would have stayed in bed too! In fact my kids are afraid to talk to me in the mornings, especially when I am in bed! What a great memory!!
