On the Road (part 2)

Okay so I have lots of catch up pictures from the rest of our Journey before leaving for Hawaii!
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Boise (Matt's old stomping ground) and then headed out for Bend Oregon in the morning. We made a little stopover on our way to Matt's folks in The Dalles so we could meet Mitch's fiance Jesse! The kids were super excited to meet Aunt Jesse and on the way there they were trying to name all of their "aunts" 12 to be exact. Mitch & Jesse are getting married in August and the kids and I will have to miss the wedding (Matt is hoping to make it) so we wanted to be sure and get to meet her. We spent a few fun filled hours with the two of them. We met up at Mitch's house an then piled into our car to go sit in a garbage truck. Mitch is a Garbage man...how cool is that! The kids loved their turn in the drivers seat. After going out to eat we stopped at a quality park in Bend and then back to Mitch's where the kids rode his scooters and long board. Mitch the cool uncle that he is has 4 or 5 scooters in his garage..most of which he found in people's garbage. I bet you didn't know that the great trash you put out might end up at your garbage man's house. Anyway, the kids had a blast, Jesse is AWESOME!! Way to go Mitch!

Dawson & Olivia flying their airplane to Hawaii (park in Bend)
The Garbage Crew! Jesse, Isaac, Dawson, Olivia, Adam & Mitch
Olivia the garbage Lady! Real ladies haul trash in a skirt!!

We arrived in The Dalles late on Thursday. The kids were happy to see Grandpa & Grandma. It had been an entire year exactly when we were in Oregon for Ben & Lydia's wedding. We had a great visit. The kids enjoyed playing in the yard, fishing with grandpa and hanging out with Solana and kids (Kallin, Aidan, Isley & Aila).

It was a cold and windy day on the Columbia river! We didn't have any luck w/fish. Each took their turn in the drivers seat.

Dawson spent hours pulling the trailer around the yard, hauling various things and riding on it himself. He's quite the little farmer. I think he gets it from Grandpa Blackburn. He enjoyed being Grandpa's sidekick.

Dawson and Olivia loved playing with Isley & Aila
and Isaac and Adam had a ball with Kallin & Aidan.

I saw the four boys sitting on this bench just talking and so I ran to get my camera for the photo op...wouldn't you know that once they saw the camera they had to put on a show. I have 4 or 5 pictures of them here all in different wacky poses. Silly boys!

Fun times. Nate and I flew a kite in the Dalles on our honeymoon (long story). Somehow that makes me feel famous when you talk about being there.
I have to say that Olivia and my Emily could pass for sisters. I know that we have said they look alike since birth, but in some pictures (the garbage truck group shot), the resemblance is uncanny!
